Lake Powell Cost FAQ

How much does a Lake Powell trip cost in 2026?

It depends entirely on whether you rent a houseboat. A drive-up day trip is cheap — a $30 Glen Canyon vehicle pass plus an Antelope Canyon tour. A week on a rented houseboat with a powerboat, fuel, and food easily runs several thousand dollars for a group. Use the calculator above to price your exact plan.

What does it cost to enter Glen Canyon / Lake Powell?

A private vehicle pays $30 for a 7-day Glen Canyon National Recreation Area pass, a motorcycle $25, and individuals on foot or bike $15 per person. The $80 America the Beautiful pass covers entrance for a year, but note it does NOT cover the separate boat launch (vessel) fee.

Do I need a separate boat pass to launch at Lake Powell?

Yes. Beyond the entrance fee, every motorized vessel needs a Glen Canyon Vessel Pass, priced by boat length: roughly $20/week for a jet ski or personal watercraft, $30/week for a powerboat 26 ft and under, and $100/week for a houseboat in the 41–60 ft class. Annual vessel passes are also available.

How much does it cost to rent a houseboat on Lake Powell?

Houseboats are the signature Lake Powell expense. Daily rates swing with size and season — from roughly $300/night for a smaller boat off-season to $1,300+/night for a large luxury houseboat at peak summer. Most rentals are booked as multi-day blocks, and fuel is billed separately at the marina.
